- If you can't see the animation you'll need to get the Java plugin from http://www.java.com. This is a one-off download and will allow you to experience many powerful web-applications on various sites.
- To find an exact location use the latitude/longitude read-out in the control panel of the animator. It displays the location of your pointer in decimal degrees (not minutes and seconds) as you move it around the animation.
- To measure the distance between two points (perhaps your location and an oncoming rain band), left-click your mouse once on the first point and then move it to the second point. A red line will appear and will be labelled with the distance in kilometres between the two points. Left-click once again to turn it off.
- To give you a better idea of where the echoes are you can overlay roads and district boundaries on the animation. To do so, right-click the animation once and select an overlay from the resulting menu.
These features are not available for state composite radars.
