Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning

for Central Tablelands and Central West Slopes and Plains Forecast Districts.

Issued at 11:17 pm Wednesday, 5 February 2025.

Severe thunderstorms have eased about central eastern NSW this evening.

Weather Situation
Thunderstorms continue over central parts of the state this evening, though no longer severe.
cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas:
Central Tablelands and Central West Slopes and Plains
The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.
32 mm was recorded at Molong (Post Office) in the 30 minutes to 8:20 pm.
51 mm was recorded at Rocklea (Glenlea) in the 1 hour to 7:51 pm.
56.6 mm was recorded at Doon Ayr (Gloucester River) in the 30 minutes to 5:00 pm.
93 km/h wind gust was recorded at Singleton at 2:41 pm.
3-4 cm hailstones were observed in Canberra around 3:30 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
