Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for Mid North Coast, Hunter and Metropolitan Forecast Districts.

Issued at 10:22 am Wednesday, 10 April 2024.

Winds have eased about the coastal fringe between Wooli and Wattamolla.

Weather Situation
A developing low pressure system in the Tasman Sea is moving to the southeast away from the New South Wales coast this morning, easing the winds along the coastal fringe.
cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter and Metropolitan
Damaging winds are no longer occurring or expected along the New South Wales coast. However, separate warnings for DAMAGING SURF and HAZARDOUS SURF remain current. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/warnings/

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
