for Damaging Surf

for Lord Howe Island

DAMAGING SURF CONDITIONS FROM THE LATE AFTERNOON INTO SUNDAY

Weather Situation
A low pressure system to the south of the island is travelling eastwards bringing with it damaging surf and gusty winds to the island from the southwest.
Damaging surf conditions, with waves exceeding 5 metres in the surf zone, are likely to produce significant beach erosion.

The NSW State Emergency Services advise you:
- Check your property regularly for erosion or inundation by
sea water, and if necessary raise goods and electrical
items
- Stay out of the water and stay well away from surf-exposed
areas
