Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Heatwave Warning Issued at 02:30 PM EST on Monday 27 October 2025 Valid for Monday 27 October 2025 to Thursday 30 October 2025 Warning for the following areas: Peninsula, North Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Central Coast and Whitsundays Cancellation for the following areas: Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West, Gulf Country, North West and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Safety Advice: Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home. If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool. Maximum temperatures in the low thirties to low forties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties for the Peninsula, North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, and Central Coast and Whitsundays districts. Severe heatwave conditions will contract north and continue to build over Cape York Peninsula early this week, with conditions expected to peak midweek. Severe heatwave conditions have eased over most of the coastal, inland and western districts, with low intensity heatwave conditions expected to linger for the next few days.
