for Western, North West Coast, Central North and Central Plateau Forecast Districts.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are easing

Weather Situation
A fast moving cold front is triggering thunderstorms along the leading edge as it advances along the north of the state this afternoon.
cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas:
Western, North West Coast, Central North and Central Plateau
This warning is now cancelled.
A 96 km/h wind gust was observed at Luncheon Hill at 4:19 pm.
A 91 km/h wind gust was observed at Burnie at 3:23 pm.
A 91 km/h wind gust was observed at Smithton at 2:59 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.

No further warnings will be issued for this event.
